The Paddock Family is Officially Complete!

As of 8:00am this morning, the Paddock Family is officially complete!  Daddy is laying on the couch, all tucked in with ice packs, pillows, blankets, and a fresh cup of coffee and a slice of homemade carrot cake in his hand  :)  The boys are helping me take very good care of him and he's being quite a man about the whole thing! (Though before you all go thinking I'm the most wonderful wife in the world, I should probably admit I didn't bake the cake :)

Having twins the first time around was a very special (and unexpected) gift.  And call us crazy, but ever since the boys have been about a year old, we have both said we would only do it again if we could be guarenteed another set of twins.  Please note that the boys started sleeping through the night at 15 months old, so this decision was not even made in the delirious sleep deprived state of twinfancy!!  The boys have such a magical bond that we've always been afraid a third would feel left out on some level.  If we had two again, the little ones would have their own special bond with each other.  But since our chances of winning the baby lottery again are slim to none, we decided quite awhile ago to just bow out.  As it is, our family has a very unique characteristic in that our boys will always be at the same developmental level.  One of us won't have to take to the boys to a movie while the other stays home with the baby(ies).  One won't have to stand in the roller coaster line with the boys while the other stands with the little ones because they are too short to ride.  With our only children being the exact same age, we will always have the unique opportunity of diving head first into whatever the boys are interesed in because they will BOTH be ready for it at the same time.  They'll both be ready to hike through Yellowstone at the same time.  They'll both be ready to build their own kayaks at the same time. They'll both be ready to help daddy rebuild an old Model T at the same time.  And that is our second biggest reason as to why Daddy is sitting on a bag of ice on the couch as I type this  :)
