G is for Gross!

Ok, so that wasn't really our lesson for today.  But it might as well have been.  Both of the boys have nasty colds and are dripping boogers like its their job.  Caleb is at least capable of blowing his nose, though I have to chase him around and make him do it every 5 minutes- to which he replies, "I already blewed my nose mama!"  Yeah kid, that was 3 minutes ago- do it again!  Matthew on the other hand hasn't figured out the blowing thing.  He either blows out of his mouth or snorts in through his nose.  Neither are effective.  So instead he just lets the snot drip down his face, periodically wiping at it with the back of his hand and smearing boogers all over his face.  And his poor eyes are watering like crazy, so he's got tears dripping down his face and mixing with the smeared snot and well- he's just a giant mess!!!  I desperately wish there was SOMETHING I could give them- even if only to make me feel like I'm doing something to help.  To brighten the outlook just a bit- Caleb is starting to develop the cough.  Which means Matthew is next.  And Matthew is my infamous cough-cough- puker.  Landed us in the ER on my birthday two years ago because the poor kid was coughing so hard he would throw up every time.  So I've got that to look forward to- and you all know how much I love throw up!

Needless to say, we didn't get a ton of preschool work done today. We did manage to get through a sorting activity where each of them had a paper with different color circles on it and they had to put all of the blocks of that color into the circle. Then I wrote numbers in each circle and they had to count our that number of that color of block to put in the circle. We got a little bit of handwriting practice done on the letter G and then played a golf ball sight word game where I wrote our 6 sight words (we added "go" and "get" today) on golf balls and the boys had to pick up the ball with the right word on it. I had planned to take the balls outside and let them use their clubs to hit the balls as I called out the words but its raining, so that didn't work. Maybe we'll do G again tomorrow and go outside then. Anyways- here are a few pictures from this morning :) Now I'm going to try to get them to lay down and watch a Sesame Street for an hour so at least I can wipe boogers in the same place instead of chasing them around the house!
