After a short nap in the car, we made a special visit to see our cousin Jeff at work. He works as a production assistant on the Nickelodeon show Hollywood Heights, to which he has gotten Jon and I addicted since we've been here in California! We got to meet the directors and producers and lots of other important people upstairs. The boys "worked" at Jeff's desk for awhile and showed off some of their presidents knowledge for a little bit. Then Miss Jean, one of the producers, offered to watch the boys upstairs while Jeff took Jon and I down to the set where they were blocking different scenes during their lunch break. It was pretty cool to see all the different rooms on the set and we got to talk with some of the actors and actresses :) Then Jeff told the boys it was their lucky day... the cast had brought an ice cream truck on set to give everyone free ice cream and Jeff offered to take the boys for a treat. They jumped into his arms and away we went! The boys wanted chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and a cherry and they got just that :) We got to sit and visit with Jeff while we all enjoyed our ice cream, then Jeff took me back to the set to watch them film a few scenes. Unfortunately we had to let Jeff get back to work and because we aren't going to see him again before we leave, we had to say our good-byes. We have been so incredibly blessed to get to spend so much time with my family while we've been here, but after spending all of this wonderful time together it is going to be really hard to say good-bye and go back to our long-distance relationships with occasional visits on holidays. The boys have really taken to Jeff and I just hope we can get back here to see him again soon!!!! We love you Jeff!!!
The rest of our evening was pretty bland. We made dinner here in the condo and then went to a neighborhood park to let the boys burn off the last of their energy. We have spent a lot of time at a lot of different parks, and I am going to leave with a sad realization. I have come to the conclusion that the downfall of society all starts with playground slide etiquette. I'm not sure what is so difficult about teaching your child that you go up the stairs and down the slide, but apparently it is a task beyond the capabilities of the average parent. And by that I mean 99% of all parents. We're starting to have a bit of a difficult time explaining to the boys why they can't climb up the slide when every other kid at every other park does!
Well, that's all for tonight... three more days to squeeze in as much fun as we can then we'll be headed home!!
Santa Clarita Skate Park- the largest park in California!!
The boys in the lower level under the bridge (yes, there's a bridge!)
The assistants to the production assistant of Hollywood Heights hard at work!!!
Lovin' the ice cream truck!
Saying goodbye to our cousin Jeff
