Community: LAPD/Van Nuys Senior Lead Officers has an important message for you! Summer Safety and Crime Tips.
Hi Bel-Air Association,LAPD/Van Nuys Senior Lead Officers has an important message for the community!

Summer Safety and Crime Tips today include a reminder that you should always close your Garage Doors (even when you are at home) , Lock your Side gates, consider Environmental Design changes to your property (i.e. trimming down your hedges/bushes, adding motion sensitive lighting, etc) and get connected with an "Active" Neighborhood Watch group in your area. Leaving windows cracked open for circulation, failing to lock side gates or garage doors, leaving ladders along the outside of your residence, all make it too easy for Opportunists to take advantage of your weaknesses. Please continue to report all suspicious activities and persons to the Police and NEVER become confrontational. We want you to call your local Police Station and allow us to make contacts with any suspicious persons loitering or walking through your communities. Remember to "Lock-It, Hide-It, Keep-It" by removing ALL valuables from your parked vehicles. Our Property Crimes are not being reduced and with nearly 35% of those crimes involving valuables being left in motor-vehicles, this could be reduced greatly with your help. Thank you for your support and for helping us to Reduce Crime and the Fear of Crime through Active Neighborhood Watch groups. For full details, view this message on the web.
