Holy crap! Did you know that you can buy Lynda Barry originals on Etsy? I KNOW. Her shop opened in August and there are a ton of beautiful things available right now. I can't afford any of them but goodness knows I'm glad they're out there, and you can buy them directly from the artist herself!
I am a huge fan. I am also trying to become a better teacher (and writer, and person, of course) and I think Lynda Barry is one of the best teachers (and writers, and people) out there. I love her approach and her honesty; she will suck the fear right out of you and dredge up all the memories and good ideas that are hiding under the surface. I can't really look at any of her instruction books (What It Is, Picture This) without crying. 
I would like to take one of her classes someday. Wouldn't you?
