Original Email received from MyHistoricLA:
I am writing to you with an update on SurveyLA, the City ofLos Angeles’ citywide survey of historic resources. Many of you were contactedin the last few years as part of MyHistoricLA, the community outreach programfor SurveyLA. Many, many thanks to those of you who participated in theMyHistoricLA workshops and provided us with interesting and valuableinformation about your community! All of the information that we have collectedto date has been provided to the field surveyors to help inform the surveyeffort in your area. SurveyLA is now preparing to begin field work in thecommunities of:
Brentwood
Pacific Palisades
Bel Air
Beverly Crest
Westchester
Playa del Rey
Over the next several months, you will see field surveyorsin teams of two (either in a car or on foot), going up and down each street inthe above neighborhoods taking photographs and entering information aboutindividual properties into the SurveyLA database. All of this work is done fromthe public right-of-way. If you see survey teams in your neighborhood, pleasefeel free to ask questions. For those of you who are affiliated with communitygroups that have websites or newsletters, it might be helpful to let members ofthe community know that SurveyLA is going to begin work in your area.
For this round of field work, the City of Los Angeles’Office of Historic Resources has contracted with professional architecturalhistorians from the consulting firms of Historic Resources Group, GalvinPreservation Associates, and Architectural Resources Group. As we begin work inyour community, members of the field survey team may contact you with follow-upquestions about particular properties in your area. In addition, if you stillhave information about properties or neighborhoods that you did not have timeto submit previously, it is not too late! You can send any information to me,and I will be sure to distribute it to the survey team working in your neighborhood.
If you would like additional information about SurveyLA andthe work that has been done so far, please visit the City’s website at:

We have also implemented a new website to make it easier tosubmit information about particular properties or neighborhoods:
