Ok, so I have to admit that I'm imposing some of my own learning values on the boys! Yesterday was a rainy, rainy day... and there is nothing I used to love more than sitting in a coffee shop studying on a rainy day. Before the boys woke up, I worked on making them two little coloring books about Abraham Lincoln. As you know, the boys are into presidents- and most recently we spent some time in the courthouse that Abraham Lincoln used to work in when he was a lawyer (it is now located in Greenfield Village)- so they are particularly interested in Abe lately. After breakfast, we packed up and headed out to Starbucks. I got to drink an extra cup of coffee and for their morning milk time the boys got to have their favorite special treat- "hot chocolate". One day they are going to realize that there is supposed to be more than one drop of chocolate per 6 ounces of milk, but for now they don't know any better :) We spent the morning sipping our treats, coloring our Abe Lincoln books and learning fun new Abe Lincoln facts. When we got home, I dug around downstairs for the set of Lincoln Logs that the boys got for their 2nd birthday but that we had stashed away for a rainy day... today! Of course we loved knocking down our log cabins more than we loved building them, but I wouldn't expect anything less from them! All in all, it was a perfect rainy morning... and I think we learned a little too :)
