The boys' first big project of the summer was designing their very own skateboards for our trip to LA :) They got to pick out their own paint color, their own design for the bottom and their own color of grip tape for the top. Caleb kept true to his roots and chose his favorite color paint- brown! Oy vei! He wanted the alphabet on the bottom in very specific colors and then he picked purple grip tape. We were a bit worried that Matthew's design- hot pink paint, "mango-tango" grip tape, and the periodic table- just might make for the ugliest skateboard in Los Angeles but luckily it turned out WAY better than we expected... its actually pretty frickin' awesome!! Here are a few pictures of the process. It was the greatest test of patience of their little lives so far... watching paint dry is not particularly easy for a toddler! But the boys were both champs and I think it made the final reveal that much more exciting for both of them!
