Winter Wonderland Weekend

This past weekend we headed back up north- this time to Boyne Mountain- with some family and friends for a weekend of winter fun.  The boys had one of their favorite friends Shealyn come along, which was tons of fun for all three of them.  We got in two days of skiing and it was just amazing to see the boys progress...  Matthew is skiing completely on his own now.  Caleb would be as well, but daddy and Grandma tend to keep a hand on him at least half of the time because if left to his own devices, he'd just point his skis downhill and shout out "Mama I'm goin' faaaaast!!"  He is perfectly capable of turning and stopping on his own, he just often chooses not to  :)  The boys also got to spend afternoon ice skating outside.  After their skating lessons, which were actually a bit of a disaster, they were both able to cruise around the entire rink totally on their own!  They spent the entire time pretending to be Thomas trains that were delivering "special packages" for Sir Topham Hatt (aka: giant chunks of snow) to the other side of the Island of Sodor.  We also spent an evening at the waterpark, which neither of the boys were too fond of- though they did both do a giant waterslide twice!
