We got up this morning and helped my parents get the boys ready for their day, then Jon and I packed up and headed out for Laguna Beach. We never really went on a honeymoon when we got married and technically the money we won for this entire trip was for a second honeymoon (or first in our case!) so we thought we ought to at least take a day or two to ourselves! We got distracted shortly after leaving and stopped at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market where we had a delicious chocolate strawberry banana crepe (made by a real French guy nonetheless!) and got a coffee from Starbucks for the road. Then we meandered down the Pacific Coast Highway and made our way into Laguna Beach. This is the most amazingly beautiful place!!! Not only is the natural landscape- the cliffs, the beaches, the ocean- incredibly amazing, but the walkways and landscape around the beaches are just gorgeous. Its like a little tropical paradise :) We checked into our room at the Casa Laguna Inn around 1:00pm. UN-BELIEVABLY beautiful!!! We took the trolly down the road to Nick's for lunch... delicious! Then we hit the beach! We climbed around on the rocks and cliffs all afternoon while Jon lived out one of his childhood dreams and scampered after crabs and other fun treasures in the tide pools. We walked in and out of all the little beach shops, but apparently they don't have toddlers around these parts because we couldn't find t-shirts for the boys even if our lives had depended on it! We had dinner at The Cliffs and our table was hanging out over the ocean... it was truly amazing. Then we walked back down to the beach for sunset, although it got a bit cloudy. But it was still beautiful! We went for a swim under the stars in the pool at our bed and breakfast and now we're ready for bed!!! We miss the boys so much, but it was so nice to have an entire day to ourselves and in such a beautiful place!!!

Toddler Version:
My parents took the boys back to the Hollywood Farmers Market this morning where they got balloon helicopters and all the fruit samples they could eat. In the evening they met my aunt and uncle back up in La Canada for an evening of music in the park... Elvis! My parents said they had a blast! Of course Aunt Cindy brought them more sea salt and chocolate covered almonds, so that was all they could talk about! I guess Caleb woke up in the middle of the night and had trouble going back to sleep, but when my mom finally let him climb up on the couch with Alex he promptly went to sleep... and luckily my mom was awake long enough to photograph the progression of him falling off the couch!!!
