California Adventure- Day 1

Well, I want to be too tired to write.  I AM too tired to write.  But despite their little bodies thinking that it is midnight (and having been awake since 5:00am!), the boys are in their bedroom laughing uncontrollably and we're too afraid to fall asleep before they do!  Goodness only knows what kind of trouble they could get into while Jon and I are nearly unconscious from exhaustion!  But we're not about to find out  :)

We started our day at 5:00am and by 6:00am we were en route to the airport.  Packing enough stuff for an entire month but not so much that you can't carry it through the airport while pushing two toddlers in strollers is a fine art, and I'm proud to say that Jon and I mastered it on our first try!  We had eight suitcases and bags, two giant car seat bags, two strollers, and two toddlers...  but only four grown-up hands!  Somehow by the grace of God we made it through security (and even managed to run into Jon's brother's sister-in-law and her family on their way to Orlando!).  Our sweet reward was that our gate was literally right next to the Starbucks  :)  Now if that isn't a good sign, I don't know what is!!!

The boys were absolute champs on the flight.  It was nearly 4 and a half hours but they were angels the entire way.  We got to fly over the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon and we just loved that their little faces were glued to the windows taking it all in.  Getting to our rental car was a bit more laborious being that we had to carry the car seats and one suitcase that we were able to check at the curb back in Detroit.  Wish we could have taken a few pictures of the looks we got, but we didn't have a free hand to grab the camera!

Anyways- our condo is great! Super simple but great for the boys because there's lots of open space and not too much they can get into. We all hit a pretty big lull in the early afternoon, once the high of traveling wore off... but we managed to order a pizza for dinner and recharge. Then it was off to pick up our pack 'n plays from a stranger/friend who was kind enough to let us borrow them, a quick trip to the park to let the boys run off some steam after being cooped up all day, and then to the grocery store to stock up! After a day of traveling and eating food on the run, Jon and I were giddy with excitement in the produce aisle!!!! Seriously, we were like kids in a candy store! All four of us were shouting out everything we saw and wanted and we were stuffing our cart full as fast as we could! Now that we've got some food and some essentials, we feel a bit more settled in.

That's all for tonight... the boys are finally settling down (after one crib hop- not bad!!!) so its off to bed for us!!!!!!
