Look out! Its gonna blow!!! The boys have been pretty into volcanos lately- ever since they stumbled upon this volcano book at Barnes and Noble. We love to draw volcanos, watch videos of volcanos, talk about becoming volcanologists when we grow up, and now that mommy finally caved and bought the darn book, we love reading and re-reading about volcanoes too! So when last Friday evening turned out to be rainy and we couldn't go to the pumkin patch as we had planned, we figured the next best thing was to build a volcano. This was a test of patience- which is not something the boys specialize in :) Friday night we built our volcano out of paper mache. Then it needed a few days to dry. Yesterday morning we painted it, or "dirted" it the boys like to say since they decided to paint it to look like dirt. They waited very patiently all day until daddy got home and we could erupt it together. We read our book one more time, then daddy made the magic happen. The boys were over-the-moon excited! And then they got their hands on the vinegar and baking soda and made a little of their own magic happen... or as you can see, a LOT of their own magic!! It was just plain amazing to watch them take science into their own hands, manipulating the materials to find out first hand what happens and delighting in the results. It made for avery magical afternoon :)
So curious!!!

It's gonna blow!

LOL!!!
