For Those Who Think Young

To contact us Click HERE

So I tried to watch Party Monster today; I thought it would be fun to see the club kid fashions now that they're weeks away from becoming fashionable again) and crazy drug-induced antics. However, the acting/pacing/everything else was intolerable! Goodness gracious. Bad, bad, bad. I shut that down about 20 minutes in and searched Netflix Watch Instantly for something more suitable on this lovely Sunday afternoon. I FOUND IT.

"I want a bachelor of art, not a bachelor of bikinis!" Bob Denver teaching Nancy some tantric shiz.

For Those Who Think Young seems to be your average beach party adventure, but it mostly takes place indoors, where a lot of weird hijinks happen. Highlights: there's a part where one guy eats a whole lot of ice cream in an old-school Baskin Robbins, and a different part where you have to watch this other guy's 1964-raunchy stand-up act for like half the movie. Hot chicks, great costumes, lots of those ceramic wall fish and netting, Bob Denver looking like a Mission District hipster, a hirsutey surfing main character named DING, and Nancy Sinatra with dark brown hair! Oh, and Paul Lynde! Lowlights: none. This movie actually has everything, except a reasonable plot. It's so great, you guys, seriously.

Pic by Zombie Normal on Flickr. TINA LOUISE! At the club "Surf's Up," which I would very much like to be a real place.
The below video isn't titled "Bob Denver's Scary Singing Beard" for no reason. Enjoy. If you want better quality, watch the whole movie on Netflix! It's totally delightful and the perfect background movie. Surf's up!

4 coyote sightings in 4 days - Mars Lane & Sandal Lane

To contact us Click HERE

Please see below a note from a Bel-Air neighbor:

We have had 4 coyote sightings in 4 days near Mars Lane & Sandal Lane. One coyote is big/older and the other young. Both are very healthy looking. When we have tried to scare them off, they don't run in fear, but rather just waltz away slowly. The biggest fear is two young children that live nearby.______________________________
In addition to notifying our Bel-Air resources at coyotereport@hotmail.com, please report ALL coyote or aggressive wildlife sightings to West Los Angeles Animal Services @ 310-207-3156 to file a "Wildlife Sighting Report."
[Tell them Officer Randall (the Officer in charge of our area) asked specifically that Bel-Air is to make, and the Shelter is to accept, phone reports.]
You would file this report whether it was a mountain lion or a coyote.

LAPD - VALLEY TRAFFIC DIV.

Advisory: LAPD Valley Traffic Division will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint from 8pm-3am. See full msg for details.
Hi Bel-Air Association,What: Sobriety Checkpoint

When: Saturday, July 7, 2012

8:00 PM - 3:00 AM

Where: Laurel Cyn and Paxton St

Sun Valley, California

Who: Valley Traffic Division

Why: The purpose of the sobriety checkpoint is to reduce the number of traffic collisions involving intoxicated drivers and hit and run collisions. The checkpoint will educate the community to use designated drivers and not drink and drive. Our message is simple: If we catch you drunk, you will be arrested.

It is the Los Angeles Police Department's goal to continue providing public awareness on the dangers of drinking and driving, and the laws concerning driving without a valid driver's license. Motorists approaching a checkpoint will observe traffic signs, information and police officers advising that a checkpoint is ahead. Once diverted into a lane, each motorist will be detained momentarily while an officer explains the purpose of the checkpoint.

Funding for this checkpoint is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We can all help make our streets safer, please report Drunk Drivers – Call 911.

For further information, please contact Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000or email 33489@lapd.lacity.org . For full details, view this message on the web.

California Adventure- Day 1

Well, I want to be too tired to write.  I AM too tired to write.  But despite their little bodies thinking that it is midnight (and having been awake since 5:00am!), the boys are in their bedroom laughing uncontrollably and we're too afraid to fall asleep before they do!  Goodness only knows what kind of trouble they could get into while Jon and I are nearly unconscious from exhaustion!  But we're not about to find out  :)

We started our day at 5:00am and by 6:00am we were en route to the airport.  Packing enough stuff for an entire month but not so much that you can't carry it through the airport while pushing two toddlers in strollers is a fine art, and I'm proud to say that Jon and I mastered it on our first try!  We had eight suitcases and bags, two giant car seat bags, two strollers, and two toddlers...  but only four grown-up hands!  Somehow by the grace of God we made it through security (and even managed to run into Jon's brother's sister-in-law and her family on their way to Orlando!).  Our sweet reward was that our gate was literally right next to the Starbucks  :)  Now if that isn't a good sign, I don't know what is!!!

The boys were absolute champs on the flight.  It was nearly 4 and a half hours but they were angels the entire way.  We got to fly over the Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon and we just loved that their little faces were glued to the windows taking it all in.  Getting to our rental car was a bit more laborious being that we had to carry the car seats and one suitcase that we were able to check at the curb back in Detroit.  Wish we could have taken a few pictures of the looks we got, but we didn't have a free hand to grab the camera!

Anyways- our condo is great! Super simple but great for the boys because there's lots of open space and not too much they can get into. We all hit a pretty big lull in the early afternoon, once the high of traveling wore off... but we managed to order a pizza for dinner and recharge. Then it was off to pick up our pack 'n plays from a stranger/friend who was kind enough to let us borrow them, a quick trip to the park to let the boys run off some steam after being cooped up all day, and then to the grocery store to stock up! After a day of traveling and eating food on the run, Jon and I were giddy with excitement in the produce aisle!!!! Seriously, we were like kids in a candy store! All four of us were shouting out everything we saw and wanted and we were stuffing our cart full as fast as we could! Now that we've got some food and some essentials, we feel a bit more settled in.

That's all for tonight... the boys are finally settling down (after one crib hop- not bad!!!) so its off to bed for us!!!!!!
